Alterations and construction of a 2-storey extension shoehorned into an extremely tight courtyard site, close to the main hospital street and operational clinical departments, and involving critical relocation of main hospital services, has provided new staff changing and auto-valet facilities on the ground floor, office accommodation for various departments on the first floor, and new orthopaedic workshops.

Conceived as the first stage in the overall strategic masterplan for the phased future development of the hospital, also completed by Camerons.

Key to the smooth running of the contract within the operational hospital environment were regular structured communications and provision of clear advance information to prevent distress and disruption to normal activities as far as possible.
