Prior's Court, Jedburgh

Comprising 20 housing units for Eildon Housing Association, this development has utilised to the full a narrow and difficult site, which was identified in an earlier study as having potential for only 10 units.

The layout was dictated by the steep topography running the full length of the site and taking up half the area, with judicious use of retaining structures ensuring full Barrier Free compliance for all units. The development provides 14 general needs houses, 4 flats and 2 wheelchair houses: from 2-bedroom flats to a 6-bedroom wheelchair house designed for future conversion to two 3-bedroom houses.

The house designs adopt a simple palette of colours and materials, aimed at achieving a contemporary design with roots in traditional Scottish architecture.

Project value £2.6m.
