Innerleithen Co-op

Camerons provided both Architectural and CDM Co-ordinator services for the delivery of this new-build food store for Lothian Borders & Angus Co-op.

A former builder’s yard and petrol filling station, the site presented potential contamination hazards along with major utility services that would require to be diverted. These matters were addressed and resolved through enabling works prior to the main works commencing on site.

The works had to be carried out around a neighbouring and operational car dealer business which was left on an island site between accesses, having refused an acquisition offer from the Co-op.

The simple steel framed structure with brick cladding and traditional render finish to the exterior enabled the construction to be easily managed on site.
