Dryburgh Abbey Hotel

Camerons were appointed by Thurlestone Hotels as both Architect and CDM Co-ordinator for alterations and refurbishment to form improved new bar and conference facilities at this imposing Country House.

The project involved major structural alterations in forming a new bar facility located to provide a dramatic outlook to the River Tweed, while a new conference facility was formed in place of the existing bar area, designed to take advantage of an existing roof light to maximize natural light and ventilation.

Due to the hotel remaining open at all times, it was necessary to carry out the works at pre-agreed times, with site access being arranged to minimise business disruption and risk, to safeguard staff and guests, and to maintain escape routes.
